Degree Plan
To graduate from the program, students must complete 30 credit hours: 15 credit hours in medical pharmacology and 15 credits in medical physiology. There are 24 credits of required coursework and 6 credits of coursework that must be selected from the list of electives. In order to graduate, students will be required to pass a comprehensive exam during their final semester and obtain a 3.0 or higher GPA.

Master’s Degree General Information
Upon successful completion of the courses required for the master’s degree program, students will receive a University of Florida master’s degree from the College of Medicine. Students must earn a “C” or higher in each course while maintaining a 3.0 GPA.
Master’s Degree Minimum Requirements: For All (Domestic and International) Applicants
In order to apply for the University of Florida’s online master’s degree in medical physiology and pharmacology* or online master’s degree in medical physiology and aging,** students must have:
- A Bachelor of Arts (BA) or Bachelor of Science (BS) degree from one of the institutional accreditors (or four-year international equivalent) found at https://admissions.ufl.edu/apply/graduate/accreditation
- A strong science foundation with a minimum of five full-semester courses related to biology, chemistry and/or physics
- An upper-division GPA of 3.0 (“B” grade) or better. To calculate what your upper-division GPA is, please use the following form: Upper Division GPA Worksheet.
- Official transcripts from every college or university attended
- Resume/CV
- $30 application fee
Pursuant to Florida Statute, your application requires inclusion of all post-high school education and employment, as well as information about ongoing international affiliations and research funding. Please ensure this information is included on your curriculum vitae (CV) or résumé.
Additional Master’s Degree Minimum Requirements: For International Applicants Only
The English language skill requirements for admission:
- If your native language is not English, or if you graduated with a bachelor’s degree from a non-English speaking country, you will need to take and submit your TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language) or other Graduate Council-approved English language skills test scores.
- Non-English speaking countries are those which are not included in the Graduate School’s list of English speaking countries.
- To be admitted to a master’s degree program, the applicant must score the following on the TOEFL:
