Graduate Policies

At UF, you’re part of a community built on honesty and integrity. Review the graduate academic regulations linked below to understand the academic and professional standards that apply to you:

Commencement Information

Looking for commencement information? Visit our Graduation page for everything you need: requirements, graduation application instructions and details on the commencement ceremony. Take a few moments to confirm every requirement is met, so you can walk at commencement stress-free.

Dropping a Course

Need to drop a course? Here’s what you need to know.

Before the drop/add deadline: You can drop a course with no financial responsibility. The course will not appear on your transcript, and eligible fees will be refunded. Check the Critical Dates page for the deadline that applies to your term.

After the drop/add deadline: You can still drop a course, but you will be responsible for all tuition and a “W” will appear on your transcript.

Questions? Contact COM-graduateeducation@ufl.edu.

Master’s degree students: You may be eligible for federal financial aid. Complete your Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) as soon as possible and use UF’s Federal School Code: 001535.

Graduate certificate and non-degree students: Federal financial aid is not available for these programs, but you may be eligible for private student loans. Contact our financial aid advisor to explore your options.
