Course Description
Healthy aging is no longer just about extending the lifespan, it’s about optimizing healthspan, resilience and vitality across the lifespan. This course explores the biological mechanisms that drive many age-related conditions and how lifestyle choices can meaningfully slow, prevent or even reverse aspects of these changes. This course bridges geroscience and lifestyle medicine, examining how physical activity, nutrition, sleep, stress management and social engagement influence healthspan and resilience. Students gain science-based insights applicable to both personal health and professional practice.
Together, we connect cutting-edge longevity science with everyday life. Students will critically evaluate inteventions, such as regular exercise, nutritious diets, intermittent fasting, cognitive training, Tai Chi, warm foot baths, social engagement, relaxation practices and effective stress management. This course is designed to help you think critically about myths surrounding anti-aging trends and biohacking culture by grounding discussions in peer-reviewed research and clinical evidence.
Course Goals
The objective of this course is to provide students with an understanding of the biological and physiological mechanisms that underlie changes in physical health across the lifespan in response to engagement in common lifestyle-based interventions.
