Course Description
Advancing healthy aging and longevity science requires rigorous, evidence-based research. This course provides foundational training in research design and methodology for aging and gerontology. Students learn how aging research is conducted across basic, clinical and population-based settings, developing skills to critically evaluate scientific evidence and design research studies that address real-world aging challenges. Emphasis is placed on translational research, interdisciplinary approaches and current issues in aging science.
Course Goals
The goals of the course are to:
- provide a foundation of the fundamental concepts related to research in aging and geriatric research,
- develop an understanding of research methodologies commonly utilized to address aging-related research questions, and
- to promote the ability to find and critically analyze research findings in this area.
